Meg Cohen
Meg feels fortunate to travel around the world for work, as she thinks it is special to get to know a country and its culture by working with their artisans.
Meg has always worked with a focus on natural fibers. She brings her interest in color to these fibers. Designs for wovens and prints are often drawn out by hand first.
Meg grew up in Philadelphia. Art was always important in her family. Reading, drawing, and photography were daily activities. Meg studied fine art with a focus on lithographic printmaking at university in the United States and England. Her first job after leaving college was at a fashion design company in New York, where she was taught to design knitwear and woven textiles for production in England, Scotland, and Italy, with a strong specialization in cashmere and silk products. Meg continues to study and learn by working with new fibers and new weaving and knitting techniques.
