By carefully calculating the balance of different dyes, Min Chiu uses the shibori technique to express her inspirations from nature. Oftentimes, the final piece exceeds all expectations with its remarkable beauty. That is why Min fell in love with the shibori technique. Together with her sister-in-law, Xiaoke Wang, Min creates unlimited possibilities that replicate nature.
Each silk shawl or scarf is hand dyed, pleated, optionally discharged, and painted one at a time.
Min Chiu has always been a disciplined learner. By spending a tremendous about of time reading and viewing English and Japanese books on shibori, along with countless trial and error, she became a talented shibori artist. She is also very grateful for the direction and support provided by artists Karren K. Brito and Carter Smith.

The colors on the scarf recieved and the colors of the advertised are very different and I am quite disappointed. There is a large majority of the scarf that's a hideous brown color. Nowhere in the advertised photo does the scarf have brown on it.
As these scarves are dyed to order, there can be variations with the final colors received. Each of the scarves will use the same colors as pictured online, but exact patterning will vary.
