Made out of locally reclaimed oak wood, this vessel tells a story of the tree's life: the dark area means a wound, while the voids indicate natural decay. A piece that showcases the natural beauty of the original tree, it's finished with a satin topcoat, making it beautiful to view and hold.

"Throughout my work, I intend to share with the viewer my childhood memories, as well as everyday activities."

Roberto's work is a combination of organic shapes that showcase the wood's character, colorful forms, and geometric shapes. Every piece is unique in its own way, as there are no two pieces of wood identical to each other.

Roberto's sculptures are created using mainly reclaimed wood. His work starts mainly at the lathe, followed by intensive carving and coloring sessions. By understanding the character of the wood, he is able to sculpt unique sculptures out of logs that otherwise would end up in landfills or firewood piles.

Roberto has been artistically inclined since childhood. During his mid 20's he reconnected with woodworking, eventually leading him to wood sculpting. Throughout the years he has been invited to several juried fine art shows and exhibitions where he has been awarded Best of the Show several times, among other recognitions. In 2022, Roberto and his work were featured in Lakeshore PBS.
