Anthony Hansen

"I enjoy creating pieces that form a patchwork of the past and the present."

Metal artist Anthony Hansen creates sculptures for the wall using found automotive sheet metal. Drawn to the character of the metal, Hansen creates patchwork compositions that mix bright and shiny with dull and faded, with each scratch and spot of rust adding visual texture and warmth.

Hansen believes that every piece of scrap metal has a story -- he enjoys weaving those stories together to create his own metal poems. Creating hearts out of found and reclaimed elements reminds the artist of the humanity we all share, and how closely all of our lives and journeys are connected.

Born and raised in northern California, Hansen graduated with degrees in Liberal Studies and Fine Art. His work is shown nationally at fine art festivals and galleries.
