Sarah Richardson

"Within each piece, I strive to create an intriguing balance between jewelry and the body, and a natural intensity that draws people in."

Sarah Richardson begins her jewelry designs by carving simple elements, or pods. By repeating these pods in various ways, Richardson creates the geometric shapes that comprise her lines of jewelry.

Each piece is hand carved in wax using traditional techniques, then cast in 18K gold or silver. With the application of heat, the fine metal is brought to the surface. Each piece is then polished on the edges to create an interior glow.

It was a natural choice for Richardson to follow her passion for art as she comes from a long line of artisans. She studied Metalsmithing at the Rhode Island School of design, with further studies in Germany.
