"I am stirred each time I sink my hands into clay. Each time, without fail, the clay speaks to me."

Clay work has been a 50 year passion for Jeffrey. Creating something wonderful from nothing truly inspires him. From the first day at the potter's wheel in high school, his artistic soul was awakened. As a young artist in his twenties, Jeffrey would set aside time after his day job in business and spend his evenings at the Clay House studio in Los Angeles. This studio became his second home.

Horsehair is applied to porcelain in a raku firing. Raku is an exciting process whereby pottery is removed from the kiln at very high heat. Individual horsehairs are applied to the clay surface and burn away, creating an unique one-of-a-kind carbon imprint. Sculptural elements are married to the work and are derived from porcupine quills, African horns, porcelain, slate, coral, alabaster, mopani wood, and quartz crystal.

Jeffrey began his clay-work journey at age 17. Now an accomplished international ceramic artist with work presented in many countries. Currently his work is featured in showrooms, galleries, and juried art shows. He's been a featured guest on ABC news for his exceptional work and awards. Jeffrey can be found in his San Diego studio, still moved by the joy he has in creating unique artwork.
