Linda Etherington

"I love to paint. I love color. And, blessedly, color is everywhere. I love shape and everything is a shape, organic and geometric and all in between. I love space, positive space, negative space, and, mercy me, it is everywhere I look. I am so blessed to have eyes to see color, shapes, and space, and live in a time when women are encouraged to paint. It is a feast everyday."

Linda Etherington was taught to paint by her mother. She studied painting in high school and college. She was blessed with 7 daughters and worked hard at being a mom while sneaking away to paint when she could. Sometimes a little one would need her and she would rock them on her hip while painting. She was able to hold onto her love of painting and her love of mothering. Linda loves to paint!

Linda Etherington centers her oil based artwork around relationships between mothers and children. She knows that holy moments happen in the small and simple daily tasks that tie a family together.

Linda Etherington was taught to paint by her mom. After years of watercolors, drawing pencils, oil pastels and crayons, she received her first oil painting set when she was 12. She took classes at the college with her mom when she was in high school and then went to Brigham Young University where she studied painting with an art scholarship and graduated with a BFA in Painting.
