Vetro Vero

"We design and create work to enrich daily experiences and honor fine glassmaking. We are two glassblowers with a mutual dedication to refinement, clarity, and integrity, and we bring these values to every object we create. "

Vetro Vero's blown glass designs are timeless objects created to enrich contemporary lifestyles with harmonious details and personal meaning through the touch of the makers. A collaborative practice between artists Michael Schunke and Josie Gluck, Vetro Vero creates pieces inspired by formal relationships between line and volume.

Michael Schunke and Josie Gluck collaboratively design and craft each object by hand without the use of molds. Each design is completely hand-blown and finished with distinctive colors and signature gold leaf details.

Michael Schunke received a BFA in glass from the Tyler School of Art at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was an associate professor of glass at the Toyama Institute of Glass Art in Japan. Josie Gluck received a BA in art from Union College in Schenectady, New York, and an MFA with a concentration in designed objects from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She has also studied at the Appalachian Center for Craft in Smithville, Tennessee.
