"Glassblowing is a magical process."

It might have been while Tracy Glover was appearing and disappearing from glass boxes that she fell in love with the magic of glass. After a short career as a levitating, psychic numerologist and magician's assistant, Glover decided to focus on the centuries-old art of glassblowing.

Inspired be everything from 1960s minimalist design to antique apothecary bottles to ornate Venetian glass, Glover's utilitarian lamps, vases, bowls, and candlesticks highlight the translucence and plasticity of glass. Glover uses traditional Italian techniques to craft her exuberant glassworks. Each piece is handblown in her Pawtucket, Rhode Island, studio.

Tracy Glover received a glassmaking BFA from Rhode Island School of Design. She honed her craft in a 13th century Belgian convent's crystal factory and Dale Chihuly's Pilchuck Glass School, where she was mentored by Venetian maestri-in-residence.

Just as beautiful as the picture. It glistens in the sunlight.

Barrel Vase by Tracy Glover

I recently bought the Barrel Vase & the Chance Vase (color: Lime Stripe), both made by Tracy Glover, and they are both exquisite! I love both of them and will definitely keep an eye out for other pieces of her work to purchase.

The Vase is prettier than the picture, in a word, Awesome.

I have placed the vase on a window ledge, next to other vases, and it is the prettiest of them all, however
small, a little over 7 inches tall.

A radiant jewel

Fabulous, just fabulous. I have it on permanent display in the dining room, where it will soon hold daffodils -- just a few stems, as the opening is only 1" in diameter. The translucence of the blue and green stripes produce a depth effect that's quite mesmerizing. Delicate glasswork with strong vertical uplift in the stripes make for a nice paradox. One factor: The base of my piece is only 1 1/2" in diameter. I plan on fixing a small circle of putty there to hold the vase firmly on the shelf. Yours may or may not be as small, but, given the geometry of this vase, that might be a consideration.
