Glass artist Daniel Scogna references details within the landscape to create a visual journal with his blown glass vessels. Leaves are a favorite form because they can suggest a particular time of year or a specific type of tree that may be indigenous to a certain area. Through each suggestion of a specific time and place, the artist documents the events of his life.

Scogna creates his unique textures through processes he has adapted from enameling techniques. This non-traditional approach allows him to draw imagery onto the hot glass by hand and vary the surface texture by applying color during different stages of the blowing process.

Beautiful vase

My vase doesn't look quite like the one in the photo, but I still love it. Each vase is undoubtedly going to be unique, given that it's not mass- produced - but then that's part of the point, isn't it?! My vase is signed, and I am very happy with it.

The work is lovely; very professional; the dimensions are correct.
My only objection is that the original picture, and the close-ups which you can see by moving the mouse around, appear to show a matte/opaque finish on the vase, not the shiny, high-gloss appearance of the vase I received. I can live with it, but I would have preferred what I deemed the pictures to be.

A beautiful vase that would work with so many decorating styles! Gorgeous colors, Love it! It is slightly smaller than I had visualized, but, the measurements given in the description are correct!

Beautiful!

We purchased this vase from Daniel at Sunspots Studio in Staunton, VA many years ago. My husband and son do glass blowing as a hobby and Daniel's work is exquisite. We love this vase and Daniel is a true artist.
