Ode to Vivaldi
Bronze sculpture of a Musician playing the flute, is an ode and tribute to composer Antonio Vivaldi, who wrote 6 distinctive concertos for the flute during the Baroque period of the 18th century. Of special note to is the opportunity Vivaldi created for flutes to be featured in solo parts within the composition. Inspired by this music, the artist created a complex abstracted figurative interpretation of a musician in reverie playing the flute, representing a physical manifestation of the feeling she gets when hearing Baroque flute music, especially from Vivaldi.
