Bee in the Clouds Bowl
Ceramic Bowl
Created by
Lisa Scroggins
This bowl is created from a warm white earthenware clay. The vessel is first wheel thrown and trimmed, and then a sculpted bee is added to the rim. The bee is meticulously etched with veins in its wings and tiny hairs on its body. The vessel is then bisque fired before the swirling blue and ivory glaze is manipulated to resemble swirling clouds in a deep blue sky.
The bowl is finished inside and out with three layers of a clear gloss glaze. The artist's signature is brushed on the bottom of the piece, and the vase is fired in the kiln once more.
Limited edition of 50. Each piece is unique; slight variations in shape, dimensions, and colors will occur.
