These champleve enamel earrings were hand fabricated, then cast in sterling silver. Transparent vitreous enamel has been applied in multiple layers and then fused to the sterling silver in a kiln.

Care: clean with detergent and brighten with toothpaste under running water.

Jewelry designer Carly Wright has worked with stone, both as inspiration for her organic, contemporary jewelry, and also as a stone mason. The ancient layers and crevasses of sedimentary rock provide endless inspiration and impart serenity to her work, as does the laying of stone upon stone to form an architecture in the landscape.

Wright uses the enameling technique of champleve, firing fine granules of glass into recessed areas that are created with layers of sterling silver. Each piece is fired from 3 to 30 times in a kiln and ground smooth. The sterling silver is oxidized and steel brushed. Her enamel surfaces are etched to a soft matte finish.

She received a B.F.A. degree from Empire State College and continued with additional studies focused on the art of enameling at the Penland School of Crafts.

I like these earrings so much that I just bought a Carly Wright pendant to match. I don't like dangly earrings for day - the motion detracts attention from your face. If you are going to a job interview, facilitating a class, conducting a meeting or reporting the news - please keep your earrings still. These unique earrings are classy and fun without interfering. Beautiful natural look.
