Sherry Schreiber

Sherry Schreiber

"My pastels are "portraits of nature" pictured amongst their surroundings, as well as sweeping landscapes of fields, clouds and tranquil water surfaces. "

Sherry creates pastel drawings inspired by the stunningly beautiful places where she has lived around the world; most notably France, East Hampton, NY and Jamaica. She evolved her own special technique of coaxing luminosity out of my materials which she adores working with.

Schreiber draws smaller pieces filled with meticulous detail exploring her subject in depth. Her larger pastels are sweeping landscapes with a slightly more impressionistic feeling.

The beauty of Southwestern France where Sherry spent much time provides a bounty of images for her to interpret, but she also work from photographs, and, of course, imagination.
