Klara Chavarria

"My work reflects a deep interest in our human condition, our yearnings and a search for a true purpose in life. I want to make the invisible visible and the intangible tangible. In my work I want to capture our souls, experiences, relationships, deep emotions, feelings and how these influence our existence. I am interested in the inner and the spiritual aspects of our lives."

Contemporary artist Klara Chavarria has created a completely distinctive style of figurative abstract expressionism, which expresses the emotional, psychological and spiritual depths of life.

She strives to express our human potential and what we share in our cultures and societies. Klara's work is not only intellectually stimulating, but also powerful and aesthetically pleasing.

Klara Chavarria grew up in Guatemala City in a family of artists and teachers and started studying academic painting with a renowned artist and professor when she was just eight years old. She holds a BFA from Kansas State University concentrating in design and painting. She has had studios in Cincinnati, OH, Chicago, IL and presently in Miami, FL, where she currently works and resides.
