Kissed by the Sun

This linocut print is printed in an edition of 100. Printed with oil based, fine art printmaking inks on Stonehenge 100 percent rag paper. Titled, numbered, and signed in pencil below the image area. On occasion, the sun filters through a thick curtain of atmosphere and moisture to glow an astonishing, flat magenta. Layers of the thick air tint the landscape and flatten the planes of silhouette. The challenges of layering one color over another to create this mood were considerable. Each print in the edition has a unique sky since the clouds and sun are created by wiping the inked block and wet print with a cloth.
