The lamp body is turned bubinga with two walnut and two maple tendrils. The lamp is turned and finished on a lathe. The tendrils are steam-bent hardwoods that are wrapped around the lamp's body.

The glass shade is a dark amber textured sun design. It is formed in the kiln by slumping. The process involves a number of firings. After the final firing the inside is sandblasted to create a translucent soft light.

The brass inlay at the top of the lamp serves as a three-way touch switch. The lamp takes a straight wattage bulb up to 200 watts. The lamp and switch can operate with incandescent, halogen, and LED bulbs .
