Summer Solstice

This mixed-media painting is created from layers of acrylic paint, emulsions, ink, and chalk. Slivers of collaged tape, Japanese papers, found magazine scraps, thread, straw, and sand all create textural excitement. Scratching, rapid mark making, and smudging techniques create dynamic movement and energy. An acid-free archival coating protects the surface and produces a subtle sheen. The sides of the gallery-wrapped canvas are painted a rich gray. Signed on the back. Ready to hang.
