Carly Wright
Jewelry designer Carly Wright has worked with stone, both as inspiration for her organic, contemporary jewelry, and also as a stone mason. The ancient layers and crevasses of sedimentary rock provide endless inspiration and impart serenity to her work, as does the laying of stone upon stone to form an architecture in the landscape.
Wright uses the enameling technique of champleve, firing fine granules of glass into recessed areas that are created with layers of sterling silver. Each piece is fired from 3 to 30 times in a kiln and ground smooth. The sterling silver is oxidized and steel brushed. Her enamel surfaces are etched to a soft matte finish.
She received a B.F.A. degree from Empire State College and continued with additional studies focused on the art of enameling at the Penland School of Crafts.

Carly is a master craftsperson. Her photos say it all. I add this brilliant necklace to two sets of her earrings I wear on regular rotation. I've gotten more into beads lately, so I swapped the rather plain snake for a gray beaded "chain." I think it elevates things toward a more current look. Very happy.
Love the pendant but the chain is a disappointment, arrived badly tarnished. No amount of polishing has brought it to the shine in the promo picture.

This necklace is beautiful. The craftsmanship and colors are great and it will look beautiful with a variety of clothes, dressed up or casual. I have other items by this artist and have not been disappointed.
I wear it on a chain with a black t shirt and it looks great. it reminds me a my love for reading, even though i think it has something to do with geology, but i choose reading. It makes my imagination run thinking about the possibilities of how i can wear it in so many different combinations.
