David Kellum

"My designs and furniture reflect my passion for fine form, simplicity, and fine craftsmanship."

David Kellum's work is clearly classic with a modern sensibility. His work shows the influence of twentieth-century design styles such as Art Nouveau, Art Deco, Scandinavian, and Asian, all while maintaining its own originality. The grace of simple design and outstanding craftsmanship is apparent in each piece.

The creative process begins with drawings to analyze an idea and shape it into a piece of furniture. Each piece is built individually in Kellum's studio using traditional, time-tested joinery techniques and carefully selected materials. Through hand-shaping, sanding, and finishing techniques, Kellum creates pieces of exceptional quality that are designed to last for generations.

David Kellum comes from a family of artists and craftsmen reaching back many generations. He received training in woodworking by interning and working with other craftsmen as well as architectural designers and builders over the last three decades.
