Flycatcher on Dragonfly
Created by Dona Dalton
The great crested Flycatcher stays in the tree tops .... that is, until it collaborates with a giant dragonfly. This is a carved construction made of poplar and painted with layers of latex enamel, acrylics, metallic and iridescent paints. Slight variations in color may range into deeper hues or more russet browns. Carving is done on the band saw, with further shaping on a belt sander. Though toy like, this is not intended for a child.
