Working Man Hand Made
"A commitment to the creative process of glassmaking is my driving force. Glassblowing demands a unique lifestyle steeped in unwavering dedication to the craft. I am driven by an aspiration to preserve the rich tradition of masterful glassblowing."

Manion’s work embodies a clean design that reveres diverse glassblowing techniques. Inspiration is pulled from Italian glassblowing traditions and combined with a modern aesthetic. From a variety of interior decor to drinkware collections, each piece is designed and made by hand. This intimacy with every step of the process results in unsurpassed quality, craftsmanship, and distinctiveness.

His most intricate work uses the glass cane technique. He creates each glass cane by pulling molten glass into long, thin strands. These are then cut and used to create patterns in hot-blown glass. The cane techniques he uses include mezza filigrana, reticello, and zanfirico.

Since the young age of 10, Manion has been working with the medium of hot glass. At the start of his career, he was instantly drawn to the significant history and technical challenge of the craft. His work is the culmination of experience gained from working both in the United States and abroad. Manion brings his rich experience of over twenty-five years to every piece of glass he creates.
