Ken and Ingrid Hanson have worked together since their early college years. Although traditional Italian and Swedish glassblowing techniques inspire them, they employ a bold and innovative color palette to create their unique, contemporary art glass.

The artists pay great attention to the detail of the surface decoration on their vessels. They first create brightly colored stripes and shapes using hand-formed cane and murrini, and then, during the blowing process, they fuse these inclusions onto the surface of the glass. They also often include 24K gold and pure silver leaf in many of their pieces.

Great craftsmanship

This is a gorgeous piece. The individual canes that have been incorporated into the pumpkin show the talent of the Hanson's. Love all their work, and would highly recommend any of their work.

The spirals of different colors in this art glass pumpkin caught my attention immediately. My friend immediately noticed this glass pumpkin on my fireplace mantel and thought it was striking and beautiful. The piece is weighty, so colorful and beautifully made.
