"I love the process of making a piece of glass. From the first moments of an idea that is dancing around your mind to the challenging construction of the molten material, every step of the process is unique. "

Bryan Randa's intricate figures reveal the artist's keen eye for detail. He creates each one through lampworking, using a torch to melt and shape borosilicate glass rods or tubes. Fine detail is achieved by beating a specific area of the glass and making lines or dents with a variety of hand tools. He often combines lampworked elements with blown glass vessels to create truly extraordinary works of art.

Bryan Randa began working with glass in 2004 at McDermott Glass Studio in Sandwich, Massachusetts. Working under David McDermott and Yukimi Matsumoto in an intense apprenticeship, Randa gained great skill and passion for glass. In 2006, Randa began his lampworking career making small figurines for the Sandwich Glass Museum.

Although mostly self-taught, Randa has studied with well-known artists such as Milon Townsend and Sally Prasch. His work can be found in galleries nationwide, including The Corning Museum of Glass.

Cool and pretty!

We have two of Bryan's works and we love them both! This piece is prominently displayed on our mantle and grabs attention when people come into our home. It's imaginative and really fun to look at. The color is a true jade color which is unique and beautiful!

Exceptional

It is my great pleasure to own several pieces from this artist. As you'd expect the glass vessel is beautiful. Areas pictured as a solid color are vibrant, lively, not simple slabs of color. The figures add wonderful energy and humor. I also appreciate the adhesive included to help ensure that the figures remain in place.

Meditative and Zen like

Love the simplicity of the vase itself and the color reminds me of jade. The piece's pop comes from the two figures, one sitting on the wide lip of the vase while the other one is hanging from it. This glass sculpture is very unique and I can stare at it endlessly as it is very soothing to look at.

Spectacular

This piece is everything I hoped it would be. I have been eyeing Bryan Randa's work at Artful Home for some time now. The green color of the vessel is what finally convinced me to buy one of these lovely pieces with figures climbing or sitting. It is gorgeous and speaks to me. It makes me happy every time I look at it. Thanks for this amazing piece of artwork.
