A stunning tabletop sculpture composed of slim strips of opaque and transparent hand-cut glass in a multitude of vibrant colors. The glass is fired in a kiln to 1400 degrees, which is hot enough to melt the pieces together while retaining the texture of the individual strips.

Each piece is made to order, and the exact color and pattern will vary. The sculpture fits snugly into the included powder-coated stand. Signed by the artist.

Helen Rudy came to creating beautiful fused glass pieces from a non-traditional background in construction management. Her attention to color detail, layering, and saturation heralds back to her degree. Her crisp and clean designs clearly focus on the interaction of light and its effect on the glass.

Each piece of glass is measured and hand cut. By layering one color or many different colors on top of each other, a bright and bold design is created. The glass is first fired in a kiln to about 1500 degrees F to melting or fusing point. Sometimes a second firing is needed to create a shape. The glass can be in the kiln for several days before finishing.

Almost entirely self taught, Rudy attended workshops with Milon Townsend, and Lisa Voigt, attended the Pilchuck Scool of Glass to study with Alicia Lomne, and in 2011 studied casting Pate De Verre with Anna Boothe.

The disk and frame come separately and require assembly. Due to the tight fit, it was impossible to line up correctly.

Stunning

I have this placed on a ledge in my dining room which is directly in front of a window facing my pool. It is so beautiful I cannot look at it enough. It is also the first thing people see when they walk into my foyer since the foyer leads directly into the dining room. I absolutely love it in this sunlit space. Gorgeous!

It came with a hand written note by the artist on how to handle it while placing it in the stand and it had masking tape on the back side in 3 spots telling you which telling you where the sides and bottom of the piece go in the stand. Very Helpful. I was impressed! It looks beautiful in our lighted shelf!
