Tom Stoenner has always believed that objects made by hand offer a shared experience between the maker and the user. "A simple object can forge connections," he says. The artist has concentrated on functional work for more than a quarter of a century. If it is suitable for everyday use, so much the better. If it displaces a machine-made item in the owner's cabinet, it is a success.

Using techniques borrowed from both production glassmaking and the studio art glass movement, Stoenner creates drinkware that incorporates random patterning and uniform shapes and sizes. Every piece is similar, but different.

We had to wait 3 and a half months to get this item, and it is beautifully made, but not in the colors pictured in the catalog, so not the colors we ordered, needed and wanted. Only buy this item if you do not care what color you get. We ordered a green-blue vase that was almost all blue with a little green and black in it, but got a primarily purple and white/silver vase with only a tiny bit of blue and green in it, We really wanted a blue-green art object to complement our other art and are sad we did not get that.

The vase is very pretty but not as pictured or as described. The vase I received is extremely pastel with some pinks and purples in addition to pastel blues and greens. The photo and description indicates the vase is blue and green with vibrant colors and distinct variations throughout. I really want the vase as pictured so will likely return. This will be my first return to Artful Home.

Perfect Wedding Gift!

Having read the other reviews, I purchased this beautiful piece as a wedding gift. The colors are stunning (blue and green) and the size is impressive. The recipients love it and have it situated as their dining room table centerpiece. Now I want one for myself!
