This one-of-a-kind art glass vessel is handblown; after cooling, the cloud images are hand-drawn onto the finished vessel then sandblasted in multiple sessions. Treated with a sealant to provide a matte finish, and to prevent fingerprints from showing up on the surface when the glass is handled.

Corey Silverman created The Furnace in the summer of 2007.

Corey Silverman was formally trained as a glass artist at Alfred University in NY. After graduating with his BFA, Silverman worked with several glass studios before opening his own studio near Denver.

After much experimentation, Silverman found himself always coming back to the blown form. "I love the immediacy found in making a blown vessel."
