These art glass bottles are inspired by the traditional Italian "chianti fiasco" bottles, with their signature woven straw bottom half; in the spirit of sharing a drink with a table of people, these bottles are called "Mezzo Vuoto", Italian for “half empty”.

Artist Andrew Iannazzi joins two pieces of colored glass together while the glass is still hot enough to fuse together in a process called incalmo, first used in the Middle Ages. The bold color pairings work well on their own but look even better as a group! Sold individually.

Andrew Iannazzi Glass Design
"I create my objects in order to explore functionality, form, and iconic representations."

Andrew Iannazzi is a tradesman with a deep connection to the rich history of traditional Italian and European glass making and its relation to American design. His work is hands-on and hand-crafted resulting in objects that reflect references of the past while being inspired by direct experiences in his own life. He is an east coast glass worker, with a multi-trade background which has helped him translate those artisan experiences into glassware with a unique point of view.

The artist uses off-hand blowing, and traditional European factory techniques.

Iannazzi has been working full time in hot glass production for 20 years.
