Nicholas Nourot

Nourot Art Glass
"As in life, molten glass is ambiguous and fluid. It cannot be forced, but instead coaxed into a final form. I embrace this quality at every step of construction, encouraging the material towards its most beautiful conclusion."

An artist evolves not by creating repetitive and simple works, but by challenging themselves through concept and in creation. Nicholas honors his family legacy by embracing that challenge with each new work of art. Every piece is a multifaceted story about the artist, the material, and the arduous journey to create it.

Breaking away from the Nourot family's traditional palette, Nicholas incorporates vibrant iridescents, gold, and silver into every piece. With the help of an assistant, Nicholas utilizes various advanced techniques and color applications to create work that is striking from afar and mesmerizing up close.

Nicholas Nourot was born and raised in the environment of his parent's thriving art venture. By the age of six, he was blowing his own glass. As a young adult, he trained under the direction of American and Italian masters such as Lino Tagliapietra, Dante Marioni, and James Mongrain. Today, Nicholas continues to evolve as he experiments with his own work and manages his own glass business.
