Incorporating the hues of winter, this hand-blown glass vessel is created from fused glass cane in a distinctive herringbone pattern. Once fused, the piece is rolled onto a hot glass bubble and blown to form. Each is unique and will vary slightly in size and shape.

Using both furnace and flameworking techniques, Marc VandenBerg creates engaging designs that reflect his spirited personality. He taught himself flameworking in the mid-1990s while attending Michigan State University. After graduation, he worked at The Henry Ford as part of a furnace production team. He has since taught and demonstrated internationally. He runs his own studio in Detroit, Michigan.
