Fused glass wall panels made by are an exciting alternative to framed wall art. The panels are dramatic. They are composed of colorful iridized glass, twisted glass canes, italian-style murrini and brilliantly colored dichroic glass. Texture, color and reflection work in harmony to create a durable glass "painting" for the wall. When creating the composition, glass components are arranged to the artist's satisfaction and the entire panel is fired to 1500 F, where it become one seamless piece. Once cooled, the panel has a mirror backing applied. It is then mounted to 3/4" plywood, ready for installation. Each panel is completely unique.

Mark Ditzler Glass Studio, LLC
"I am inspired by the possibilities of glass, the most magical of materials. I try to bring together techniques from different crafts to create a unique style of glass. As a designer-craftsman, it is the fine details I enjoy, and I hope you will, too."

Mark Ditzler is a Seattle glass artist who uses "surface design elements" in his work. These may be canes or murrini custom made in his hot shop, or small twists or threads of colored glass from his flame working torch. Screen-printing, iridizing, gold and silver foils, and dichroic glass are all used for accents. These techniques are carefully fused in the Ditzler Glass Studio to produce glass of heirloom quality.

Ditzler uses a wide range of kiln-forming techniques to create glass wall panels, sinks, counter tops, and lighting. Working with homeowners, architects and designers, he creates glass commissions for private, corporate and public projects. As a designer and artist, he enjoys the process of taking a client's idea from concept to timely completion.

The artist has degrees in Fine Art and Industrial Design. Originally a clay artist, he studied glassblowing and neon before discovering kiln formed glass. Ditzler has instructed for more than 20 years at Pratt Fine Art Center, Frye Art Museum, Tacoma Museum of Glass, Corning Museum of Glass, and the Glass Furnace in Istanbul, Turkey.
