Ashot Ceramics
"I transform clay, which is essentially cold, heavy, thick mud, into elegant clean forms and bring into existence the images and shapes that are swirling in my head."

Ashot Gheridian emulates and creates beautiful and interesting shapes that reflect the sensation of the soaring towers of modern architecture and the fluidity, geometry, and expressionism of 20th century decorative and visual arts.

Ashot primarily works with hand-built slab building techniques and various glazes to compliment both modern and traditional decors in the home. His work welcomes and challenge the viewer to see something different from every angle and discover a new possibility at every passing.

Ashot was born in Armenia and emigrated to the US at a young age. He has been living in the Boston area where he earned an MBA and Master's in Education. Now that he has retired from public education he spends the majority of his days in the ceramics studio working with clay; his passion and his meditation and some might say obsession.
