This large vase if great for spring tulips! It also provides a great framework to arrange any large bouquet. It's multiple stems flow into a central body so all your flowers are drinking from the same reservoir. On its own, it's a beautiful and interesting form. Sure to be the center of conversation, as well.

"I strive to create unique, thoughtful pieces that naturally find a place in the lives of their owners. "

Central to Frank Saliani's work is the idea that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. From the tangible objects in our lives, to the experiences, relationships and ideas that make us who we are, everything in our world is composed of smaller parts that make a greater whole. Saliani's work explores the relationships and patterns that arise from the synergy of these parts.

Saliani's work is cast from colored porcelain slip using handmade molds. The cast parts are then textured, altered, and assembled to create both functional, and sculptural objects. The colored slip acts as an underpainting, and allows for a greater variety, and depth of surface. The finished work is fired to cone six in oxidation, making it very durable. This process produces a body of work that is varied and readily mixed or matched, but still maintains a cohesive style and character.

Frank Saliani studied ceramics at Syracuse University and received an MFA from Ohio University. He has participated in residencies at the Carbondale Clay Center, the Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts, and the Red Lodge Clay Center. He now lives and works in Montpelier, Vermont.
