Ceramic artist Rhonda Cearlock is inspired by the patchwork of fields, the change of seasons, the rising and setting of the sun, and the textures of landscapes. Working in clay for over thirty years, she uses these influences to guide her richly organic contemporary work. Her studio is nestled in the woods and overlooks a lake.

Cearlock's work is made up of many clay elements. The pieces are extruded, hand-built, slumped, and press molded. Chosen pieces are then textured using hand-built clay stamps and found objects with interesting patterns. The pieces are fired in a homemade kiln or pit-fired, then are assembled and painted with acrylic paint.

Rhonda Cearlock studied ceramics at Eastern Illinois University. She has a BA and an MA in ceramics and sculpture.

Ordered one of these bars to go over my headboard......it arrived very well packaged and in a timely fashion.

Beautiful,Restful colors

I am so pleased with this narrow piece of art which also has a big presence. I was looking for a piece of original art that could fill a narrow corner wall by the exit door of my apartment. I see this beauty every time I leave. It is beautifully made whether you view it up close....or farther away. It came well packed and delivered in a timely manner. Great piece.

Beautiful modern artwork

These two pieces look great on either side of our triple window. They are interesting to view and beautifully crafted. Each disk is unique. The colors are rich but somehow soft. Exactly what we were looking for.

Five Circle Modern: PERFECT!

Since a room addition two years ago, I have searched for the ideal, decorators piece, to hang on each side of a large middle window on a long wall with 3 windows. The area is narrow, only 19 inches wide, and a 20 feet table sits in front of it. When I saw the Five Circle Modern, I knew it fit my size requirement but needed to be sure it fit the color scheme also. After getting input from friends, I decided to go for it! Nothing else could have been a better fit! It is truly perfect, exactly what I needed: size, color, materials, everything about it is a superb addition to my room. I am beyond pleased with it!
