An eye-catching geometric wall sculpture, this work boasts surface decoration achieved via saggar firing to create a unique pattern of hues, and wax buffed to seal in the colors. Composed of three distinct parts, each part consisting of three interlocking hollow ceramic cubes that can be installed at the same level or at a slant following the cube geometries as pictured.

Each individual cube has a hole in the back to allow for flexibility in positioning. The hole is positioned so that the sculpture appears to float against the wall. Each element measures 14"H, 6"W, 6"D; and weighs approximately 3.5lbs.

Pierre Bounaud Ceramics
"In my hands, clay becomes a language through which I explore the interplay of form, color, and texture. My pieces are conversations with the material, each one reflecting a fascination with the architectural and the organic, the meticulous and the spontaneous."

Pierre Bounaud is a ceramic artist whose work is a testament to the transformative power of art and science. Born in the picturesque Provence region of France, Pierre's academic pursuit in chemistry was overtaken by his passion for ceramics. He approaches his creations with the precision of a scientist and the soul of an artist, drawing inspiration from the subtle elements that compose our world.

His ceramic creations are primarily shaped from porcelain clay, utilizing a mix of wheel-throwing and hand-building methods. The pieces undergo several firings in a ceramic kiln to attain the intended surface design. Pierre's extensive experience fuels his passion for experimentation, steering him towards the discovery of novel glazes and ceramic techniques that elevate his artistic expression.

An introductory ceramics course at a community college ignited a lifelong passion. Following eight years of classes and workshops with seasoned ceramicists, Pierre set up a fully equipped home studio in San Diego, California, where he continues to work to this day. His dedication was recognized in 2014 when he was accepted as a full member of the esteemed San Diego Potters' Guild.
