Milford Sound, on New Zealand's South Island, is a fiord surrounded by vast cliffs and vertical water. It rains over 300 days a year there. Water tumbles and cascades down, creating one waterfall on top of another, on top on another. The sound of their down cannot be heard until you are right on top of the falls.

Each photograph is a numbered and signed archival print and comes with a signed certificate of authenticity. Photographs are meticulously printed by the artist on Epson Signature Fine Art Hot Press Bright White archival paper using archival HDR pigment inks.

"Photography is the medium I use to express my deep connection to the artistic creations found in nature's abstractions. They ask me to sit quietly and contemplate their mysterious beauty. "

Barry Guthertz's work has a profound spiritual component that distinguishes him as an artist and seeker. Photography is a way to communicate the strong emotions that caused him to click the shutter when he does—a way to share the very essence of the flower he is shooting. What is captured through his lens is an intimate inner reflection of the compositions he finds in the natural shapes, forms and abstract patterns in nature around him.

Having been a fine art black and white master darkroom printer for over twenty-five years, Guthertz continues to meticulously make his own prints, now using a state-of-the-art inkjet digital printer. All images are made with archival paper and archival HDR pigment-based inks.

Barry Guthertz has been exhibiting his photography for over forty years. His award-winning images have appeared in the Brooklyn Museum, the French Embassy, as well as in the General Electric and Union Carbide corporate galleries. His images have appeared on the covers of Lenswork Magazine and Shadow and Light Magazine, and his botanical and landscape portfolios have been published in a number of leading photography magazines.
