This abstract acrylic and mixed-media work was painted on high-quality paper using acrylic ink and paint, pencil, and oil pastel; its painterly qualities are thanks to artist Lois Stone's use of a palette knife and heavy acrylic brushes. Painted on gessod canvas, it's ready to hang. Truly one-of-a-kind.

Lois Stone Fine Art
"Each painting I create begins with a mark. It is then painted over, erased, colored, pushed, and pulled until I can feel its message. It is then complete. My mission is to live freely, express my creativity through my abstract paintings, and inspire others to do the same."

The art creates emotionally transformative experiences through her abstract paintings. They combine line, shape, form, color, texture, and space with her unique creative voice. Her work is her calling in life, her purpose It is through this artistic expression that she feels totally alive. Creating intuitively gives her paintings their voice.

Mark-making is the foundation of Lois Stone's abstract paintings. The spontaneous stream of consciousness is the tool by which her work is conveyed. Layers of paint are applied in a back-and-forth, push-and-pull technique breathing mystery and curiosity within the texture of each piece. She works mainly with acrylics however many of her works combine different materials such as pastels and oil.

Lois began her creative expression in visual merchandising for Marshall Fields & Co. when she worked on some of their most memorable Holiday and Christmas displays. From there she freelanced with small boutiques. Designing those displays on paper piqued her interest in painting and from there she challenged herself to become and artist.
