Kristin L. McHugh
For the past twenty years, painting has offered McHugh a haven of creative expression. She believes that art is vital in capturing her truth, as well as in how she can see beauty in our world. Her earliest oil paintings reflect her technical design background but steer away from reality in color, brush stroke, and perspective.
McHugh's oil paintings are simple, graphic interpretations inspired by unique snapshots of scenes from the lake, both real and imagined. Abstracted architectural and organic shapes in the subject matter allow the viewer an immediate engagement and connection.
Kristin is currently a senior project manager for the Art Partnership. She attended Drexel University and graduated with a BS in Interior Design. After working as a designer for seven years, she went on to graduate school at Arcadia University, where she received a Level II Teaching Certificate in Art Education K-12. Her learned skills and practice have influenced her personal inquiry and style.
