Kristin L. McHugh
"My Reflections series is inspired by a time when the world stood still. The pandemic allowed me to spend more time at our family camp in the Adirondacks. I am grateful for the time I spent there; I felt freer, less stuck and more hopeful. The moments of quiet personal transition enabled me to reflect on my connection to this distant yet familiar place as it became intertwined in artistic inquiry."

For the past twenty years, painting has offered Kristin a haven of creative expression. She believes that art is vital in capturing her truth as well as how she can see beauty in our world. Her earliest oil paintings reflect her technical design background, but steer away from reality in color, brush stroke, and perspective.

Kristin's oil paintings are simple, graphic interpretations inspired by unique snapshots of scenes from the lake, both real and imagined. Abstracted architectural and organic shape in the subject matter allows the viewer an immediate engagement and connection.

Kristin is currently a senior project manager for The Art Partnership. She attended Drexel University and graduated with a BS in Interior Design. After working as a designer for seven years, she went on to graduate school at Arcadia University where she received a Level II Teaching Certificate in Art Education K-12. Learned skill and practice have influenced her personal inquiry and style.
