Artist Maria Nevelson is the granddaughter of famous Modernist sculptor Louise Nevelson, while artist John Wind is the son of renowned sculptor Dina Wind. Through their collaboration NEVELSON X WIND, they pay homage to their relatives' impressive bodies of work, making this an exciting and unique partnership with deep roots in art history.

NEVELSON X WIND

"We celebrate the passion and persistence of two groundbreaking, determined, visionary women—20th century master sculptors Louise Nevelson and Dina Wind. Inspired by them, our jewelry resurrects and upcycles found objects into dramatic, sculptural assemblages. A percentage of all sales supports the non-profits Louise Nevelson Foundation and Dina Wind Art Foundation."

Inspired by artists Louise Nevelson and Dina Wind, designers Maria Nevelson (Louise's granddaughter) and John Wind (Dina's son) created a limited-edition suite of jewelry infused with the spirit of both women. The collection also pays homage to Louise and Dina's love of signature statement jewelry, and the power of fashion to express their inner strength, confidence, and style.

Each piece is hand-assembled in their South Philadelphia studio, constructed from charms and chains from workshops and flea markets around the world. The found objects are linked together with a variety of jump rings and chain links, all heavily gold plated or patinated with rust or enamel.

John Wind trained at the Slade School of Fine Art and is a mixed-media artist and jewelry designer known for his "Modern Vintage" fashion jewelry and gifts. He also runs the Dina Wind Art Foundation. Maria Nevelson’s Nevelson LLC sculpts interiors, wooden assemblages, and jewelry and develops products for art museums. Her Louise Nevelson Foundation works with curators, auctions, and collectors.
