This artful necklace has a fascinating fabrication story, hand-fabricated from sterling silver wire, 14k gold-filled sheet, silver sheet, silver tubing, and cast resin. After she constructs its rectangular form, artist Eileen Sutton paints the interior; she then casts a resin form and waits 24 hours before being able to inlay wires for decorative 'dots'. After filing and sanding to a beautiful glass-like finish, she pieces together the chain using silver chain and gold-filled jump rings. Lobster clasp closure.

When Eileen Sutton pierced her first piece of copper plate at age seventeen, she was instantly hooked. During her early training, she discovered epoxy resin, a material that excited her with its color possibilities and technical challenges.

Born and raised on Long Island, New York, Sutton studied at Tyler School of Art. Her first studio was in the space of the late Olaf Skoogfors, a pioneer in the field of art jewelry—an experience that paved the way for where she would go with her work.
