To create this delicate yet substantial pendant, the artist fuses 18k gold dust and granules to the surface of a mini, cushion-cut square of sterling silver. A hand-forged dot of recycled 18k gold is flush set with a 0.02ct round GH-SI1/2 diamond for a hint of sparkle.

The piece has a hand-applied patina, which will change with wear, exposing more silver over time. Each piece is unique and will vary.

Cable chain has a lobster claw clasp and maker's tag. Pendant is 0.6"L, 0.28"W. Choose 16" or 18"l chain.

Renee Ford Metals
"I handcraft modern jewelry that embodies fine jewelry techniques in delightful designs focusing on delicate details, boldly juxtaposed metals, colorful gemstones, and contrasting textures. "

With a background in painting and drawing, Renee Ford creates jewelry with a painterly approach. She strives to create detailed layers of texture, contrasting metal colors, and patterned compositions. She develops her designs while exploring influences that range from the art movements of Impressionism and Expressionism to the microscopic worlds of the ocean and the forest floor.

Each piece is fabricated or carved by hand from wax that is cast in Ford's studio. Colorful gemstones are carefully curated to create limited-edition and one-of-a-kind pieces. Classic goldsmithing techniques are used to create hand-fabricated settings, the framework that holds the special gemstones. Each gold element is hand forged and formed before being carefully soldered.

Renee Ford was completing her painting and drawing degree when she discovered the world of metalsmithing. She went on to study metals in graduate school, focusing on figurative hollow-ware. Her adventurous nature brought her to the Pacific Northwest, where she opened a fine jewelry store. Continued training in classic bench skills brought her to the Nashville area, where she resides with her family.
