"My goal is careful, focused design and fine craftsmanship using the highest quality materials and finishing. I create long-living keepsakes that have a world of meaning, feeling, and value. "

With every view, on every surface and form, there are elements of fascination and function to be seen. Using his visual language, Pekarek embues his work with meaning, feeling, and narratives of power, grace, and beauty. His designs have progressed over his many years as a jeweler and art teacher but still show strict attention to detail and the desire to express a feeling and make a statement.

Pekarek grew up with parents that were both “makers." Influenced by their methods, he makes jewelry mostly by the lost wax casting method. Many are built using metal sheet, wires, and tubes. Often there is a dynamic combination of both techniques in one piece of jewelry. He makes a distinct statement of form and color meant for, and enjoyed by, a wide range of individuals to satisfy an innate human desire to ornament themselves.

He started university in the psychology department at the university, but soon moved to metalsmithing, satisfying his inspirations and complementing life experience with a degree in art. His use of unique design, colors, and finish for a universal statement of color and form have been made with science, art, color, form, abstraction, and the intangible in mind.
