A shrimping boat floating on calm water. The water reflects the boat and is rendered with vibrant, swirling shades of turquoise and green, creating a sense of gentle movement. The overall style is bright and somewhat impressionistic, emphasizing the peaceful maritime scene. Painted on gallery-wrapped canvas with the image extending around the sides, this acrylic work is signed front and back and ready to hang.

Melinda Patrick Art
"I saw. I liked. I painted it."

Melinda was mentored from an early age by her grandfather: a painter, photographer and graphic designer. Her paintings are her vision of the places she loves, the colorful cityscapes, beaches and sometimes people that catch her eye. Her paintings focus on light and dark and shadows. She feels they are not only the doorway to the beauty of our common surroundings, but always a challenge to paint.

Melinda has been developing her personal style since college. She uses a bold outline to mark out her subject matter, then fills in the color blocks that define the image, then adds the details she feels tell the story.

Melinda was introduced to art by her grandfather and instantly fell in love. She majored in art all through public school, winning awards along the way, including a spot in the Houston Museum of Fine Art Scholarship Class. Melinda earned a Bachelor of Fine Art degree from San Francisco Art Institute.
