This work is a part of Nicholas Foschi's new series; he experiments in the Midcentury modern style with acrylic paints, acrylic inks, pastels, and oil pastels to build up texture and portray his architectural designs, inspired by bridges and buildings on the East Coast.

Each of his paintings have 10-12 layers of paint that he scrapes to unveil the very bottom layer of underpainting. Sealed and signed, they are not wired on the back; may be wired to display in whichever orientation best fits your space.

"I first stare at a blank canvas, envisioning the colors and design that I would like to create, and then manipulate the paint to fulfill my desire. "

Nicholas Foschi is intrigued by texture, color, and the juxtaposition of various shapes. His use of broad paint strokes creates a flow of energy on the canvas. His goal is to transport the viewer into a land of calm and intrigue. The artist accomplishes this by putting many thin layers of paint, glaze, and texture on canvas.

Foschi uses a combination of acrylic paint, charcoal, acrylic inks, pastels, paper, and other media to create a vision with depth.

Foschi was born in 1951 in Paterson, New Jersey. From an early age, he was inspired by color. After graduating from Montclair State University, he became a teacher and worked with elementary school children in the same grammar school that he had attended. In 1981, he moved to California to pursue his own art adventures. He has been participating in art shows and displaying his art in galleries ever since.
