Anna Kasabian's inspiration for her abstract expressionist sculpture comes from her surroundings, where the ocean, seashore, sky, and public and private gardens are plentiful. Organic in nature, her work reminds us of the preciousness of nature's moods and gifts. Hand-formed porcelain glazed in arctic white with a single fiery opal embedded to recall a water bead on a petal.

Anna Kasabian

Anna Kasabian

"I am an award-winning ceramicist and multi-media artist. I hand-form wall and tabletop ceramic sculptures in porcelain and am known for my work being arctic white or unglazed. My porcelain art has been installed in luxury properties, both public and private, across the country. My collectors span the globe. My organic shapes are inspired by nature—flowers, sea waves, clouds."

Anna Kasabian is known for her often wafer-thin sculptures that recall moments in nature—whether a rolling sea wave or a garden full of rose blossoms. She can form sculptures in a loose artistic style as well as in a highly detailed style that approaches realism.

She works with porcelain clay and forms thin, often translucent sculptures that allow her to achieve dramatic organic twists and turns. She is known for her high gloss glazed work in white as well as her unglazed works. She chooses porcelain clays that allow the light to play off the glaze or that are particularly translucent for works she chooses not to glaze.

Kasabian began working with ceramics in 2003, and began working in porcelain in 2010. Her early works were small, functional tabletop pieces. As she experimented with larger, more diverse shapes, her work gained recognition and received national press. Commissions for luxury properties and for private clients came from hospitality curators and award-winning interior designers. Architectural Digest has described her sculptures as the "epitome of nature-inspired elegance," and that is something she works to achieve in her studio each day.
