This hand-thrown porcelain necklace is crafted with care and precision by artist Lynn Latta. She combines and forms the pieces, then kiln-fires them to achieve vitrification. The glazes are a combination of hand painted and sprayed, and traditional metalsmithing techniques are used to set the pieces in sterling silver. Hook clasp closure.

"I've always adored miniatures and working small scale. My interest is in spontaneity and exploration of forms while using traditional methods and materials."

Growing up in the colorful and shifting landscape of Los Angeles, Lynn Latta was exposed early and often to a wide variety of modern art and pop culture. Her parents encouraged her artistic leanings by sending her on long summer breaks to Idyllwild Arts with a focus on ceramics, oil painting, and mixed media.

Lynn's main materials are porcelain and silver. The forms are wheel thrown or handbuilt. Small forms are then combined to create small sculptures in unexpected settings.

Lynn graduated from Art Center College of Design with a BFA in Advertising/Design. When she found herself wanting to expand her knowledge, she sought education from those who specialize in metalsmithing and focused on mastery.
