The atrocities of childhood abuse is how Angie began her life long journey into creating art. She sought escape through the crayon on a page and later found healing through the paint at the tip of a brush. Her art helped her find beauty and joy in the world and she captures as much of it as she can. Now she paints with glass with a desire to help others find the beauty, joy, hope, and healing.
Angie Winburn enjoys glass as her medium because, like people, it is strong yet fragile. The vibrant multicolored pieces she creates reflects the rich diversity of humanity. She is drawn to the process of taking something delicate, shaping it, and fusing it into a stronger, unified whole. Each art piece is individual but symbolic of resilience, unity and strength that comes from connection.
Angie Winburn had been steadily working professionally as a stained glass artist after graduating from the Academy of Art University with an MFA in 2018. In 2023 she converted to Contemporary Hard Edge Glass, a fusing technique that is still in its infancy. Her professional career includes local shows and commissioned work for private collections across the United States.
