Soft fabric beads are sewn from vintage saris, stitched with kantha embroidery, and filled with lightweight cotton batting, creating a necklace that is both bold and fun. Silk cord has glass beads on the ends allowing the necklace to be convertible from a choker to 36" long. Each is unique. Bead colors and patterns will vary.

Born in southern Japan, Mieko Mintz uses handcrafted textiles from around the world to make contemporary pieces. Her signature line includes jackets made from vintage sari kantha, each with its own variety of colors and its own story.

Mintz's work follows in the kantha tradition. First, her designs are made into kantha throws in West Bengal, which she then cuts to fit her jacket designs. Her focus is a kantha line that is not only comfortable, but also contemporary and sophisticated.

Cuttings left over from making the jackets are recycled one more time to create hats, bags, and jewelry.

I'm in love with this necklace.

It's even more fabulous in person. It's so light and I love that I can adjust the length. Over many years I've bought from Meiko, Lisa Bayne, Andrea Greer, Cynthia Ashby and on and on. I couldn't live without Lisa's pants which are terrific as fat as I've been getting during this pandemic. Those pants and one of the wonderful tops I've bought over the years get me compliments all the time. I have other jewelry from the catalogue too which is always unique. I think the latest catalogue is one of the best.
The customer service is wonderful so I'm easily able to return things that don't work. Please never go out of business...most of my wardrobe comes from Artful Home.

I love this necklace. The colors, material and craftsmanship are all of high quality. As others have stated, it is very lightweight and comfortable on the neck. If we ever get to travel again, this would be perfect travel jewelry. As a scarf lover, It is also a nice alternative to a scarf.
