Silk chiffon is graced with a velvet pattern of lily pads scattered in a pond. Devorè, sometimes referred to as burnout velvet, is made from solid velvet that is stenciled with a paste that removes some rayon pile and leaves the silk backing intact. Patterns are then hand painted, creating an iridescent array of tones. Rolled and sewn edges.

Sherit creates peaceful images of nature, lovingly rendered in vivid hues within soft fabric that comforts and adorns the wearer.

Her wearable art is made from luxurious silk-velvet. Nature-inspired designs are made in to devoré (burnout) velvet and then hand-painted with dyes that flow and blend within the fabric.

Sherit focused on painting as a student at Rhode Island School of Design and found her passion. As a young artist, she moved to San Francisco and found making and selling crafts at street fairs to be an enjoyable way to support herself.
